Family reminders

Household reminders and overviews, by push or email.

A daily or weekly overview of events and chores, a reminder before an event or a due task, and a push or email when someone assigns you a task. Each one is a row in Settings with a Push box, an Email box, and a time you pick.

Free to start. Notifications come with Pro and the 14-day trial.

How it works

Three steps, start to finish.

  1. Turn on notifications in SettingsPush and email are part of Pro. On the device you use, allow push once when the browser asks. Email goes to the address you sign in with.
  2. Tick Push or Email for each oneDaily overview, weekly overview, a reminder before an event, a reminder before a task is due, a nudge about tasks without dates, and task activity. Overviews and task reminders have a time you pick, from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM; the event reminder has a lead time.
  3. Open it from the push or the emailA push opens your tasks or the calendar. The email has one Open DrawerPilot button and an unsubscribe link that goes back to Settings.

One limit. Push is not available on iPhone or iPad yet; email works everywhere. Overviews and reminders go out on a 15-minute cycle, so they arrive close to the time you chose, not to the minute.

What it does.

  • Daily and weekly overviews. Today’s events, the chores due with the person’s name, and open tasks, at the hour you pick. The weekly overview covers Monday to Sunday, on the day you choose.
  • Reminders before events and due tasks. 5 minutes to 1 day before an event; on the due date or 1, 2 or 7 days before a task is due. Any event or task can use its own timing or no reminder.
  • Names and times only. A notification carries the event title and time, or the task name and who it is for. Event details are not sent, and a phone number or address typed into a task name is masked.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can I choose email instead of push?

Yes. Every row in Settings has a Push box and an Email box, so each notification can go one way or both. Email goes to the address you sign in with, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

What is in the daily overview?

The day’s events with their times, the chores due that day with the person’s name, and open tasks without a date. On a day with nothing in it, no overview is sent.

Will I get a reminder before something is due?

Yes, once you turn it on. The default is a day before at 9:00 AM for a task and 15 minutes before an event. Change the default in Settings, or set a different time or no reminder on one task or event.

Do notifications work on my phone?

Email works on any phone. Push works in a browser that allows notifications on Android and desktop, including a web app added to the home screen. Push is not available on iPhone or iPad yet.

Is this part of the Free plan?

No. Push notifications and the overview and reminder emails are part of Pro, and the 14-day trial includes them. Each person in the household chooses their own settings, and a child without an account can have their chores sent to an adult you name.
